You can’t help but be enticed by the weird and wonderful world of Duran Lantink <\/a>. Recently bagging the Karl Lagerfeld gong at this year’s LVMH Prize<\/a> \u2013 awarded to a brand that displays exceptional creativity \u2013 the Dutch designer used SS25 to show exactly what the jury saw in him. With a design ethos rooted in taking a pair of hacking scissors to the traditional, upcycling garments into fantastic, boundary-pushing creations, Lantink\u2019s offering bolstered his avant-garde approach with impressive wearability.<\/span><\/p>\n

This season, Lantink turned to the beaches of Ibiza in the \u201880s to inform his unconventional silhouettes. Tops with jutting shoulders and knicker-shaped shorts in swollen proportions were interspersed with patterned bodysuits equipped with pads that gave cartoonish shape to the hips. He paired the more bonkers looks with loose-fitting slacks, toga-style frocks and multi-coloured cycling shorts, accessorising such with handbags transformed into hats, as you do.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Lantink has never been afraid of technology \u2013 his AW22 collection, for instance, was filmed by drones that stalked models as they walked. This time around, Lantink created a mini dress with an embedded screen that live streamed the runway as it was taking place, total fashion inception. <\/span>Naomi<\/a> even made a surprise catwalk appearance \u2013 wearing jewellery from Carla Sozzani\u2019<\/a>s personal archive, no less \u2013 with the two heavyweight names serving as exciting co-signs for a label on an impressive rise.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
