In August, I went to the Hollywood Vampires concert and was mesmerised by Joe Perry\u2019s\u00a0 look, explains stylist Charlotte Gindreau when asked about the inspiration for this shoot. \u201cRock style from the 70\u2019s and 80\u2019s has always been among my greatest inspirations.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Gindreau had been ruminating on an editorial in honour of her heroes and immediately thought of Chris Puttins. She\u2019d been following his work and was a fan of his\u00a0 \u201celegant aesthetic.\u201d And producer Simona Gol brought hair and makeup artist Eva Dieckhoff on board, alongside a cast of locally-cast models.<\/span><\/p>\n

Although it was the first time the team had all worked together, their shared tastes and references ensured a shared sense of creative understanding.<\/span><\/p>\n

The shoot takes its name from the song performed by Johnny Depp with the Hollywood Vampires. \u201cYou Can\u2019t Put Your Arms Around a Memory\u201d and captures the nostalgia of looking back at an era and its icons with a certain fascination. \u201cIt\u2019s a tribute to that raw romantic and slightly melancholic spirit of classic rock, \u201c explains Gindreau.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The resulting imagery celebrates classicism mixed with the rebellious mood of Gindreau\u2019s favourite\u00a0 era. \u201c<\/span>True style isn’t about wearing the latest trends. It’s about knowing how to wear things,\u201d she explains. \u201cThe right cut, the right proportions, beautiful fabrics, textures and colours can make all the difference. And, of course, the attitude of the person wearing them. It’s that subtle balance between sophistication and nonchalance which is particularly fascinating.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n
