Last week the historic Italian city of Turin played host to an influx of effortlessly stylish guests for The Torino experience, an exclusive city takeover in partnership with the leading luxury multi-brand digital platform Mytheresa.
The two day event was designed to showcase Italian heritage, craftsmanship through shared moments and ‘money can’t buy’ experiences, alongside the launch of limited-edition looks created exclusively for the German e-tailer.
The town itself is deeply woven into Zegna’s history; the family-based brand was founded here and maintains a base in the mountains close by, while Chairman and CEO Gilda Zegna’s childhood memories of visits to the city’s Teatro Regio inspired the last campaign shoot, with the iconic location providing a sumptuous backdrop to the latest collection.
The Carlo Mollini-designed Teatro played host again with a welcome Cocktail for a gathering of top clients and VIPs. German actor Daniel Brühl wore an all-black, no-tie look and chatted amongst guests, including 10 DE’s Editor-in-Chief Toby Grimditch, Auro Montanari, Dhafer L’Abidine, Abdulla AlKaabi, Nasri Attalah, Harry Jarman and Nicoletta Polla Mattiot, while founder Ermenegildo Zegna’s great grandson Angelo, cut an elegant silhouette in a classic dinner suit.
Zegna’s Creative director Alessandro Sartori and Mytheresa CEO Michael Kliger gave speeches at the following dinner nestled above the orchestra pit. And as that ended, attendees were treated to an intimate private performance of arias from Puccini’s La Boheme and Verdi’s La Traviata.
The next day provided guests with an Italian Job moment, when guests were whisked away in meticulously restored Fiat 500 convertibles, journeying from Castello del Valentino to the legendary Ristorante del Cambio, one of Italy’s oldest and most celebrated dining institutions.
