It was crisp blue skies for Talia Byre<\/a>\u2019s Sunday morning show, which took place on the roof of Vauxhall\u2019s Cabinet gallery. There\u2019s a lot of excitement around the designer, whose off-kilter, feminine designs are directly inspired by the women that surround her \u2013 be it her studio team or her family. (Her\u00a0great-uncle Ralph owned the womenswear boutique\u00a0Lucinda Byre<\/a>, based in Liverpool, which was open from the 1960s through to the late 1980s. Talia\u2019s family played a big part in running the store, in particular the designer\u2019s grandmother.)<\/p>\n

What makes Talia\u2019s clothes shine is their intimacy and that immediate connection with her own desires from her wardrobe. She plainly said she set out to make a collection full of \u201cclothes I want to wear. Honest in construction, emotionally precise.\u201d She hopes her designs will be passed down from one generation to another. Like rugby shirts elongated into dresses, or striped blouses that bloomed into ruffled shoulders. Also great were aprons repositioned as evening gowns and series of custom Uggs<\/a> which saw the designer chop and change the shearling go-to into the chunky sneakers that\u2019ll leave you stomping around like your Baby Spice.<\/p>\n
