Valentino Garavani Brings Boho Back with its new Nellcôte Bag

When the summer months arrive even the most hardened of minimalists yearn for something slightly less serious. And nothing conveys a little frivolity more than a boho-inspired aesthetic: so please welcome to the stage, Valentino Garavani’s new Nellcôte Bag.

Described by the maison as “an ode to freedom, spontaneity and the timeless allure of music,” and crafted from soft suede, the signature totes of the Valentino Garavani  Nellcôte family are reimagined in crossbody and tote iterations, complete with embroidered mirrors, geometric jacquard, floral detailing and strips of attention-seeking fringe.

Complemented by a campaign lensed by Julie Greve and conceived by creative director Alessandro, the imagery follows a group of friends waiting in a sun-soaked field for live music to begin. Tapping into the free-spirited ethos of the late 60s and early 70s the scene is reminiscent of a caught moment at Woodstock 1969. A summer of love? That’s something that appeals both to minimalists and maximalists, whatever the weather.
