Simone Rocha and adidas join forces on a new capsule collection, marking the beginning of an ongoing collaboration which launched on September 10th. Irish designer Rocha launched her eponymous brand in 2010, creating a world full of pearls, fantasy and romance that has given her critical acclaim over the years. The collaboration with adidas extends this world into sportswear, reimagining classic adidas pieces in a whimsical way. “Sportswear is something I’ve wanted to explore for a long time,” says Simone Rocha, founder & creative director. “What interested me about working with adidas Originals was the opportunity to bring my own design language to something with such a strong identity. It was never about changing what already exists, but about revealing another perspective. The collection feels very authentic to both of us.”
The collection was first unveiled in February 2026 during her AW26 show, which focused on the myth of Tír na nÓg — the Gaelic land of eternal youth and Perry Ogden’s 1999 Pony Kids photos, depicting Dublin’s urban youth riding horses through local estates while dressed in a hybrid of equestrian wear and casual tracksuits. It was a surprise for many as models strutted down the runway clad in a variety of adidas pieces, from the Firebird track top, reworked into a cropped silhouette with exaggerated volume to the Beckenbauer, transformed by the addition of a tulle underlay. The Superstar gained sleeves, while frilled dresses, shorts, skirts, trousers and fitted leotards adopted Rocha’s design codes.
Accessories were given a similar treatment with the adidas Originals trefoil, recast as a jewel encrusted brooch and hair clip embellished with pearls and diamantés. High-impact knee-high football socks mirrored the exquisite detailing, anchored by a romantic broderie anglaise iteration of the classic adidas Airline bag. Elsewhere, The SR Taekwondo Ballerina elevates classic Three Stripes with ribbon lacing and toe embellishments in pearl and diamanté. The SR Climacool transforms a technical runner into a Mary Jane built from leather, complete with a cut-out tongue and sculpted heel. Rounding out the capsule, the SR Japan Fuzzy Slip On transforms an archival profile into an open backed design finished in pony hair effect textures and pearl inspired Three Stripes.
The collection launched on September 10th with a campaign photographed by Justine Kurland, reflecting the dialogue between intimacy and community that runs throughout the collection and is available globally at both adidas and Simone Rocha stores both online and in-store.
